Fall is my absolute most favorite season of the year.....I wait with great impatience each year for it to come. I get especially antsy come mid-July when we've had something like 48 straight days of blazing inferno-like temperatures!
I love everything about Fall and what it brings to our yard and our home. Shorter days, brisk mornings, cool days and chilly evenings, blazing fires in the stove, soup and homemade bread for dinner (or really anything that requires the oven to be on because that does NOT happen during aforementioned blazing inferno season....). My husband counts down to September 1st each year and reminds me every Sunday of the number of weeks until that day. That is when our Fall begins (even though the temps don't usually cool until the week before Halloween) and hunting season is officially open. So you can imagine our delight when we went out to the garden last week and found these beauties.....
Six beautiful, orange, perfect pumpkins!
"Earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God, but only he who sees takes off his shoes; the rest sit round it and pluck blackberries." ~Elizabeth Barrett Browning

So instead of taking the kids to the pumpkin patch, we're coming to your house!
I love this post--the pics are great
oh goodness, Cheri.... after reading this I'm so in the mood for fall that it's not even funny!! It can't get here soon enough! :)
your pumpkins are perfectly gorgeous. I love pumpkins. And I love that you grow all these amazing things!
You know, last year was the 1st year that I was SO excited for fall to come and this year I'm even more excited. I used to like it, but preferred spring. I think I'm changing my preference though! :) I can't wait to put up all of my fall decor (which BTW I also plan on doing on Sept 1...if I can hold out that long). And how seriously fun that you grew your own pumpkins this year...really quite jealous of you right now! ;-)
Oh man, it seems way too hot to even think about fall still. At least the mornings and evenings are a bit cooler now. I love your pumpkins! You're totally saving the best one for me, right? ;)
So I just saw a picture of your girls on Kourtni's 1st day of homeschool post and it dawned on me that I had seen them before. Did they do the sewing "fasion show" a few months ago at Beverly's? My niece was in it and I swear those were your adorable girls in it too, right?! :)
