Over the past couple of weekends, Jake, with the help of some (very brave) friends, built our hay barn! It required much equipment and many long hours, but it is finally done!
Here it is after the posts set and the perlings and cross beams were welded. The first piece of tin is about to be put in place...
And then my (crazy) husband goes up to the roof in the cherry picker and bolts it onto the perlings. Mind you, it was a bit breezy this day and he kept commenting that everything was swaying....the barn and the cherry picker. No thank you!
And the process is repeated again.....
"Earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God, but only he who sees takes off his shoes; the rest sit round it and pluck blackberries." ~Elizabeth Barrett Browning

oh yes, very grand!! :) Seriously though, Jake is pretty brave going up in that thing with the wind... oi.
It makes me nervous just seeing pics of Jake up in the cherry picker. Don't let mom see. Seriously
Oh wow... that thing is so tall! OK, I'm obviously a dunce when it comes to hay barns, I was confused as to why it was considered "finally done" but had no sides or doors. Don't worry though, my hubby explained it to this city girl. :)
